​​Background

Dr. Boswell is a 1985 graduate of the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine and has devoted his practice exclusively to equine medicine and surgery for over 32 years. He focuses on sport horse medicine and surgery, lameness, and advanced diagnostic imaging. He has extensive knowledge of ultrasound, digital radiology, nuclear scintigraphy, and MRI and a keen interest in laminitis and regenerative therapies such as stem cells, PRP, and IRAP.


Dr. Boswell is the founder and First President of the Florida Association of Equine Practitioners, an organization he formed to deliver the most cutting edge continuing education to Florida's equine practitioners. He is also a founding member of the International Conference on Laminitis and Diseases of the Foot, an organization dedicated to scientific research and development of a cure for equine laminitis.



 

Dr. Robert Boswell

Dr. Boswell and members of the International Equine Veterinarian Hall of Fame and International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Boswell's expertise has taken him to international competitions including the 1992 Olympic games in Barcelona, Spain, the 1994 World Equestrian Games in Den Hague, Netherlands and, most recently, he accompanied the USEF's 2009 Developing Rider team to the CSI** in Linz, Austria.

In January 2018, Dr. Boswell was inducted into the International Equine Veterinarian Hall of Fame. This award honors veterinarians who have contributed to the knowledge and recognition of proper hoof care for horses. Dr. Boswell is honored to join the very distinguished veterinary members of the International Equine Veterinarian Hall of Fame.

Dr. Boswell is licensed to practice in Florida and Montana. Based in Wellington, Florida, home of the Winter Equestrian Festival, Dr. Boswell provides services to both seasonal equestrians and those based in Florida year round.
